We have received a record number of team registrations this year.  This unfortunately means that we will have to cut up to 20% of teams after the first round.  We don't like doing this because this is supposed to be a just for fun tournament and we like to let everyone fence as much as possible however we cannot logistically promote all teams from the first round and end the tournament before our rental ends and we even rented the facility for several more hours than previous years.

We normally like to start our events as soon as possible after the posted time and because of the extra space/time constraints we will be really trying to do that this year.  For Foil and Epee events especially teams should be ready to be called to piste 10 minutes before start time to fill out team sheets and be ready to start fencing immediately at start time.

 

NEW START TIMES FOR SABRE

Because of the high number of registrations we are going to have to delay the start of the sabre events at least an hour on each day.  

New Start time for MS: 1:30

New Start time for WS: 2:00

Sabre's first round will likely be a rolling start and teams will be called to pistes as they become available.

Start the new year off with a bang at the first tournament of 2026, the Carleton Invitational! We look forward to seeing you in January at the 54^th (ish?) Carleton Invitational!

NEW START TIMES FOR SABRE

Because of high number of registration the sabre events start times are delayed at _least_ an hour.  New start times at the earliest:

MS - 1:30

WS - 2:00

Sabre events first round will likely be a rolling start as pistes become available.

 

 Registration

• Price per team $140 if registered before 11:59pm January 6th, $400 per team afterwards.  There will be no new registrations permitted on Saturday or Sunday.

 

Checkin

• ALL team members should check in at the registration table just inside the door to the Norm Fenn gymnasium to indicate that they are physically present and ready to fence. Events will start as soon as possible after the close of registration.

 

Format

• FIE team relay format

• Pools of 3 or 4 teams with all teams promoted to direct eliminations*

Venue

• The Norm Fenn Gym in the Ice House at Carleton University

• The building opens at 7am both days

Parking

• Paid Parking is available in multiple parking lots around the facility

Vendors

• There will be no vendor present at our tournament

Food

• Tim Hortons, Carleton Athletics. 8:30am - 3:00pm

• Teraanga Commons Dining Hall, 3^rd floor of Teraanga Commons offers all-you-care-to-eat dining hall. 7:30am – 10:00pm.

• Various vending machines

Tournament Support

• Each club please bring 1 complete, working set of scoring equipment to help us setup all our pistes

Athletic Therapy 

• Coverage will be provided from 8 am – 8pm each day
